Zusammenfassung
In diesem Beitrag wird Mixed Methods als Forschungsansatz vorgestellt und im Rahmen der Schulforschung diskutiert. Dazu wird in einem ersten Schritt die wissenschaftstheoretische Grundlegung von qualitativer und quantitativer Sozialforschung angerissen, um dann Mixed Methods zu definieren. In einem zweiten Schritt werden die wesentlichen Kernelemente von Mixed Methods dargelegt, um im dritten Teil des Beitrages beispielhaft einige Mixed Methods Studien zu diskutieren. Abschließend werden die Möglichkeiten und Herausforderungen der Mixed Methods Forschung kritisch diskutiert und Entwicklungslinien im Bereich der Schulforschung aufgezeigt.
