Migration und die Entwicklung von Wertorientierungen

Zusammenfassung

Ausgehend von der Frage, ob sich MigrantInnen im Hinblick auf Wertorientierungen in die Mehrheitsgesellschaft „integrieren“ oder in sogenannten „Parallelwelten“ leben geht der vorliegende Beitrag der Frage nach, wie sich bei MigrantInnen türkischer und südeuropäischer Herkunft Wertvorstellungen im Vergleich zur autochthonen Bevölkerung im Längsschnitt entwickeln. Darüber hinaus wird untersucht, welche Merkmale in welcher Weise die Wertentwicklung bei MigrantInnen beeinflussen. Die Analysen auf Basis des Sozio-oekonomischen Panels (SOEP) zeigen, dass sich die untersuchten Werte bei MigrantInnen und Autochthonen in fast allen Fällen in die gleiche Richtung entwickeln, wenngleich von unterschiedlichem Ausgangsniveau ausgehend. Wir können somit festhalten, dass bei den hier untersuchten Merkmalen insgesamt eher eine Annäherung der verschiedenen Bevölkerungsteile stattfindet und keine Separierung oder Etablierung von „Parallelgesellschaften“.
