Zusammenfassung
Soziale Mobilität bedeutet die Bewegung von Personen oder Personengruppen zwischen verschiedenen sozialen Positionen. Das Ausmaß der sozialen Mobilität wird häufig als Indikator für die Chancengleichheit in einer Gesellschaft interpretiert. Entsprechend zentral ist die Analyse sozialer Mobilität für die Beschreibung von Gesellschaften sowie für die Rechtfertigung bestehender Verteilungsungleichheiten.
