Zusammenfassung
Ist sozialwissenschaftliche Entwicklungsforschung eine akademische (Sub-)Disziplin, ein interdisziplinäres Forschungsfeld oder Begleitforschung für die entwicklungspolitische Praxis? Um diese Frage zu beantworten, rekonstruieren die HerausgeberInnen die Geschichte der akademischen Beschäftigung mit Entwicklung und erläutern jeweils ihren Gegenstand und das jeweils dominante Verständnis von Entwicklung. Ob die Etablierung als Disziplin wünschenswert ist oder Entwicklungsforschung eher die Notwendigkeit untermauert, Disziplinen zu öffnen, lassen sie offen. Sie plädieren jedenfalls für eine dekoloniale, relationale und machtsensible Entwicklungsforschung. Eine solche reflektiert und überwindet eurozentrische Wissenschaftspraxen, erkennt die historische und aktuelle Verwobenheit zwischen Nord und Süd und legt Macht- und Herrschaftsverhältnisse offen.
