Zusammenfassung

Kardiovaskuläre Erkrankungen sind die führenden Todesursachen in den westlichen Industrienationen. Unter den kardiovaskulären Erkrankungen ist die koronare Herzerkrankung die häufigste Ursache. Das Spektrum der koronaren Herzkrankheit reicht von der stillen Ischämie über die stabile Angina pectoris bis hin zum akuten Koronarsyndrom (ACS) inkl. dem akuten Myokardinfarkt und plötzlichem Herztod. Trotz Einführung der Intensivmedizin und modernster therapeutischer Behandlungskonzepte sind Morbidität und Mortalität des akuten Koronarsyndroms weiterhin hoch.

Dieses Kapitel stellt die Pathophysiologie, das diagnostische und therapeutische Vorgehen der koronaren Herzkrankheit dar und widmet sich darüber hinaus den infarktbedingten Komplikationen und deren Therapie sowie der Sekundärprophylaxe.
