Zusammenfassung

Störungen der Zahl oder Funktion neutrophiler Granulozyten sind oft Defekte hämatopoetischer Stammzellen und als solche häufig mit Störungen der Monozyten und Makrophagen gekoppelt. Die Krankheiten können die Bildung und Ausreifung dieser Zellen im Knochenmark oder ihr Überleben in der Peripherie betreffen (Neutropenien) bzw. ihre physiologischen Funktionen beeinträchtigen (Phagozytenfunktionsdefekte). In letzterem Fall liegen Störungen der Motilität (Chemotaxis und/oder Ingestion) bzw. der Mikrobenabtötung vor.
