Zusammenfassung

Das Phäochromozytom ist ein katecholaminproduzierender, meist benigner Tumor des Nebennierenmarks. Extraadrenale sind selten und gehen aus den Ganglien des sympathischen Grenzstrangs hervor und warden deshalb als Paragangliom bezeichnet. In 10–15 % der Fälle findet sich eine maligne Entartung. Das Hauptsymptom des Phäochromozytoms ist die arterielle Hypertonie, die auch anfallsweise auftreten kann. Der laborchemische Nachweis gelingt durch die Bestimmungen von Normetanephrin und Metanephrin im 24-Stunden-Sammelurin oder im Blut-Plasma. Organbegrenzte Phäochromozytomen sollten operativ, wenn technisch möglich, minimalinvasiv entfernt werden. Bei malignen Phäochromozytomen oder dem Nachweis von Metastasen wird ein multimodaler Therapieansatz verfolgt.
