Zusammenfassung

Das Kapitel behandelt die nichtneoplastischen ösophagealen Erkrankungen und den Barrett-Ösophagus. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf den entzündlichen Veränderungen. Diese werden einschließlich der Varianten und Vorstufen erörtert, wobei, wo immer relevant, die Immunhistochemie, der genetische Hintergrund und die Differentialdiagnose zur Sprache kommen. Weitere wesentliche Themen sind die Entwicklung mit Missbildungen und die funktionellen Störungen. Die beschriebenen Erkrankungen sind mittels zahlreicher histologischer Bilder ausführlich dokumentiert und durch endoskopische Bilder sowie Schemazeichnungen ergänzt.
