Weltweit hat Partnergewalt zunehmend als verbreitetes gesellschaftliches Problem Anerkennung gefunden (Alhabib et al. 2010; Pallito/Garcia-Moreno 2012). Partnergewalt verursacht nicht nur enormes Leid bei Opfern, sondern bedroht auch deren Leben und Gesundheit (Kendall-Tackett 2004;Mitchell/Anglin 2009).
