Abstract
Nanotechnology is the science of manipulating matter measured in the billionths of meters or nanometer, roughly the size of 2 or 3 atoms. Nanodentistry will make it possible to maintain near-perfect oral health through the use of nanomaterials, nanorobotics, and tissue engineering. Nanotechnology in periodontics is a constantly evolving field with its myriad applications. This chapter discusses the various ways in which nanotechnology has come to stay in the field of periodontics , in the form of nanodentifrices, dental hypersensitivity cure, drug delivery systems, anti-biofilm approaches, and resolution of inflammation.
