Abstract
This chapter presents work with electronic tongues or smart sensors employing electroanalytical sensors and chemometric tools. This new trend in chemical sensing entails the use of arrays of chemical sensors or smart sensors responding with high-dimensionality data, in combination with chemometric data processing tools, as a means to improve the overall sensor performance. The review is organized according to the electroanalytical technique used for transduction, namely potentiometry, voltammetry/amperometry, and also considering the different materials used for sensors manufacture. Chapter ends with use of biosensors for development of electronic tongues.
