Abstract

Developed in the late 1960s (Sejrsen 1969), this technique was a considerable step forward : for the first time, an absolute measurement of the skin blood flow was made possible. As such, it is still unchallenged and valid today. Although non-invasive it requires however a complex and expensive equipment which can be used only in nuclear medicine units. For that reason, it has been supplanted by less reliable methods that are more easily accessible.
