Abstract
Among other factors, safety in anaesthesiology management has encouraged surgeons to try increasingly more complex surgical techniques which nowadays make possible highly successful operations on patients who a few years ago would not have been considered for a hepatic resection surgery. Among the most important factors within modern anaesthesia care, we should specially mention three: (1) CVP (central venous pressure) goes down to diminish intro operative bleeding, (2) efficient postoperative pain management, and (3) better choice of fluids during administration of fluids. Furthermore, the application of general methods for all surgical patients, such as the use of a protective mechanic ventilation technique has favoured safe and efficient management, thus significantly diminishing the hospital stay, the time spent in intensive care unit postoperative complications and therefore morbimortality.
