Abstract
Sleep is one of the most important aspects of the normal functioning of the brain and the entire organism. Research into the different ways in which sleep can be disrupted as well as the various consequences of sleep disruption have gained much attention recently. Here we explore the ways in which a single pathology (a malignant brain disease) can affect the sleeping patterns of a person. We also explore the various well-known consequences of sleep disruption, both local and systemic. Our goal is to show how this often overlooked pathology is crucial in the understanding of many common pathologies.
