Abstract

The eyelids and orbit protect the globe and are essential to its proper function. The anatomy of these structures is complex yet delicate. Disruption of eyelid and/or orbital function can rapidly lead to detrimental ocular sequelae. This chapter provides an overview of eyelid and orbital anatomy and the fundamentals of oculoplastic clinical assessment. Commonly encountered pathologic conditions and surgical procedures are discussed.
