Abstract
One of the disorders that has received the greatest attention in the applied behavior analysis (ABA) literature is autism. A growing body of research has demonstrated the effectiveness of ABA to address the core symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as well as commonly observed covarying behaviors such as self-injurious and aggression. This chapter provides a broad overview of ABA-based strategies to address these behaviors in individuals with ASD. Comprehensive and focused intervention models are discussed in light of their evidence to address behavior concerns observed in children, adolescents, and adults with ASD.
