Abstract
Cancer treatments are based on a combination of different treatment modalities with different mechanisms of action allowing oncologists to improve survival times, maintain a good quality of life, and in many situations, provide long-term control, and sometimes cure. This chapter is provided to educate veterinarians about electrochemotherapy (ECT) as another valuable therapy available in veterinary oncology. The amalgamation of ECT in combination with surgery is advantageous and may be underutilized in both veterinary and human medicine. Combinations of ECT with other standard procedures in the existing armamentarium of treatments (surgery, systemic chemotherapy, cryosurgery, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy) are less common, but could potentially achieve even better results than any single modality currently being offered.
