Abstract
The study focused on display and interaction of Chinese traditional furniture including shape, structure and its ancient usage scenarios. The aim of the interaction mixed with real and virtual scene is to direct the participants to experience the ancient living scene of Chinese traditional furniture, learn the background of Chinese unique shape and structure of Chinese traditional furniture. The study is the attempt of design application of MR technology, sensor technology to Chinese cultural heritage study and protection. A digital scene of the painting “Celebrating 60th Birthday in Bamboo Garden” drawn by Ji lv and Wenying Lv who are palace painters in middle Ming Dynasty would be constructed with real and virtual Chinese ancient furniture and living things. With the help of MR technology, the participants would join in the digital scene of ancient living scene, directed by virtual waiters to experience the fix and unfix process of Chinese traditional furniture, set up literati communication scene of antique appreciation, poetry and painting, and so on. Six Chinese traditional high and low dual-purpose tables with different shapes and structures would be chosen to be saved in six boxes, which can be randomly selected by the participants to experience the fix and unfix process.
