Echography and Doppler of the Brain

Abstract

Noninvasive assessment of cerebral anatomy, pathology, and circulation is particularly attractive in the context of stroke, as the majority of these patients will not have acute indications for invasive intracranial monitoring. The aim of this chapter is to provide an overview of the basic and advanced brain ultrasonography applications in the monitoring and management of critically ill patients with acute ischemic stroke.
