Abstract
In this chapter, we present six case scenarios uncovering many common questions and issues that we may frequently face in the field of 3D printing in medicine where the radiologists will bring added value through their expertise. 3D printing in medicine is a relatively new emerging field. Therefore, these scenarios could be some examples of applications to find use in everyday medicine. Scenarios including several simulators and surgical guides, which are actually used in a real clinical environment where one can possibly improve the physician’s satisfaction and patients’ outcomes, are detailed. In addition, the added values for physician’s satisfaction and patient outcomes regarding 3D printed simulators and surgical guides are also highlighted. For example, a 3D printed rehearsal simulator of congenital heart anomalies of which surgical correction or treatment, particularly in infant or childhood, is difficult due to small size, its complexity, and individual variation could be very useful for an inexperienced surgeon.
