Abstract

Antiaging skin care is a large and dynamic business, accounting for 22 % of the global skin care market worth US$66 billion and growing at 11 % compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2001 and 2007, according to data from Euromonitor International. Euromonitor predicts skin care to grow by 24 % to US$82 billion by 2012, a very impressive increase for a mature market. Antiaging products are expected to be key drivers of that growth. While none of us possess crystal balls, understanding the key trends which impact the industry will help to better recognize and prepare for the future.
