Abstract
Actively mode-locked Ho:LuAG laser pumped by a 1.91-μm Tm3+ fiber laser was demonstrated. To our best knowledge, it was the first time to report an actively mode-locked Ho:LuAG laser. The maximum output power of 2.7 W at 2010.4 nm in continuous-wave mode-locked regime was obtained at the maximum incident pump power of 11.4 W. The mode-locked pulse width of 333.4 ps was obtained at a pulse repetition frequency of 82.48 MHz with the same incident pump power of 11.4 W, corresponding to single-pulse energy of 32.7 nJ. Furthermore, the M 2 factor of the Ho:LuAG laser was calculated to be 1.1.
