Décrit par Endo en 1910, le xanthélasma gastrique (XG) est une lésion rare, souvent méconnue et de découverte essentiellement fortuite, définie par une macule de teinte jaunâtre liée à un amas de cellules xanthomateuses siégeant dans la lamina propria de la muqueuse gastrique. A propos d’un nouveau cas, les auteurs présentent une mini revue de la littérature du XG, dont la pathogénie, discutée, semble privilégier des facteurs gastriques locaux et dont les aspects endoscopiques et histologiques peuvent prêter à confusion avec un adénocarcinome gastrique superficiel à cellules indépendantes.

Summary

Described by Endo in 1910, gastric xanthelasma (GX) is a rare, often underestimated and mainly fortuitously discovered lesion, defined as a yellowish macular consisting of an accumulation of foamy cells sitting in the lamina propria of the gastric mucosa. With purpose of a new case, the authors present a review of the literature to clarify the main characters of the XG, the discussed pathogeny of which seems to privilege local gastric factors and which can be endoscopically as well as histologically mistaken for a superficial independent cell gastric adenocarcinoma.
