Analgesic effect of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol in the dog

Abstract

Electrical stimulation of the tooth of the dog has demonstrated that δ 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (1 mg/kg) produces analgesia. Daily administrations cause tolerance to this effect in 8 days. The nature of the analgesia induced by THC is discussed.
