Abstract

The management of colorectal cancer has undergone a paradigm shift from previously proctectomy alone being standard of care to present-day multimodality treatment. The multimodality management involves the interplay between different specialty care providers in isolation or in combination, which often includes colorectal surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, Wound, ostomy, continence nursing (WOCN), radiology, pathology, pain and palliative care physician and genetics. The present multimodality treatment is aimed to increase the survival and reduce the recurrence and improve the quality of life.
