Abstract
The incidence of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is 3.84 per 100,000 [1, 2]. It is a benign disease caused by human papilloma viruses 6 and 11. The incidence of disease is not high, but the burden on patients and their caregivers is enormous due to the recurrence of disease. Papillomas are characterized by typical finger-like projections, with a core of central axis capillaries. The number of papillomas can be detected by white-light endoscopy (WL) and narrow band imaging (NBI) using the Derkay total site score, with additional areas of disease found using NBI endoscopy [3, 4].
