Abstract

A thorough, comprehensive preoperative consultation and planning consists of the following steps:

  1. 1.

    The initial interview with patient to identify the patient’s goals and wishes

  2. 2.

    Physical examination and analysis of the nose and remainder of the face

  3. 3.

    Preoperative planning to delineate appropriate surgical techniques, needed materials, operative area, and operative goals

  4. 4.

    Final consultation to ensure that the patient understands the limitation of surgery and potential complications
