Abstract

All the parents engaged in home education in the sample were the mothers, comparatively rich and highly educated. Thirteen of the 24 mothers possessed a PhD degree, while nine of them were the holders of a master’s degree. All of the home-educated children came from two-parent families in which the mother was always the parent who stayed at home and practised home schooling.
