Samenvatting

Door lichamelijke inspanning geïnduceerde rhabdomyolysis is eerder beschreven als iets dat voorkomt bij ongetrainde volwassenen of mensen die zich aan uitput­tende training wagen, maar wordt zelden waargenomen bij reeds fitte mensen die een middelmatige training ondernemen. Dit casusverslag beschrijft wat, naar wij menen, het eerste gerapporteerde geval is van door lichamelijke inspanning geïn­duceerde rhabdomyolysis, bij iemand die ‘spinning’-lessen volgde in het plaatse­lijke sportcentrum. Het verslag gaat ook in op de diagnose en behandeling van deze toestand.
