Samenvatting

Lage-rugpijn is een veelvoorkomend probleem in de geïndustrialiseerde landen. Zeventig tot tachtig procent van de populatie heeft ooit in zijn leven last gehad van lage rugpijn, en de jaarlijkse incidentie bij volwassenen wordt op 10-15 procent geschat.

De auteurs zijn verbonden aan de afdeling Anesthesiologie van de Vrije Universiteit Medisch Centrum, Amsterdam.
