The Simplified Chinese Psychoeducational Profile Third Edition (sCPEP-3) is a comprehensive measurement tool developed for the assessment of Chinese children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in mainland China. The instrument can be used to assess children aged between 6 months and 7 years old. The sCPEP-3 has two major components: the Performance Test and the Caregiver Report. The 172-item Performance Test consists of ten subtests administered by professionals based on direct observation and testing. The first six subtests focus on a child’s developmental abilities, among which three subtests measure communication ability, Cognitive Verbal/Preverbal (34 items), Expressive Language (25 items), and Receptive Language (19 items), and another three subtests measure motor ability: Fine Motor (20 items), Gross Motor (15 items), and Visual-Motor imitation (10 items).
