Rossiya – Arktika-type nuclear-powered icebreaker. R. was built at Baltiyskiy shipyard in Leningrad in 1985. Length 150 m, width 30 m, and maximum clear water speed 20.8 knots. Helicopter shed. R. started navigation along the Northern Sea Route in early 1986. The onboard equipment allows to perform ice reconnaissance in Polar night conditions. R. engaged in eastbound high-latitude voyages navigating along Murmansk-Dudinka route.
