Abstract
Microvascular decompression is one of the most well-established treatments for trigeminal neuralgia. Over the past few decades, the popularity of the treatment has risen due to the effectiveness of the treatment and the relatively mild associated side effects. Large case series with long-term follow-up provide evidence to support microvascular decompression as a primary treatment strategy in appropriately selected patients failing medical management.
