Abstract
This reflection from practice draws links with work by Practical Action, the international development NGO, on gender and energy and the findings from the research presented in the book. Many of the chapters stress the need for understanding of the situation and context where energy interventions are being promoted, which matches well with Practical Action’s experiences in delivering ‘on-the-ground’ energy access programmes. Doing this effectively requires a good understanding of the needs of marginalised groups such as women, persons living with disabilities, refugees and displaced people.
