Abstract
This chapter discusses the evolution of mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and addresses techniques and technological choices for improved procedural performance. We examine maneuvers such as active deployment of stent retrievers, utilization of pinning technique with blind exchange, as well as the approach for distal vessel occlusions.
