Abstract
The past two decades have been truly disruptive to the business environment and have brought about a large-scale change. We all know that technological innovations like Internet, social media, and cloud computing have been the cause of completely new business models; for example, one of the most popular social media, Facebook, does not create its content, and Uber, the largest taxi operator in the world, doesn’t own taxis or employ drivers. Furthermore, these innovative business models have developed in an extremely short time. This rapidly changing environment has created a need for change in existing business processes to constantly adapt to changing models. It’s therefore no surprise that enterprise in today’s world is identified and differentiated on the basis of its innovative capital and people instead of other attributes like its location or physical infrastructure, as was the case in the earlier environment.
