1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 Receptor and Role of 1,25-(OH)2D3 in Human Cancer Cells

Abstract

l,25-(OH)2D3 receptors have been described in a wide variety of human cancer cells in culture. The receptors are specific with high affinity for l,25-(OH)2D3 and lesser affinities for other vitamin D3 metabolites which parallel their in vivo potencies. These and other characteristics are very similar to those of the rachitic chick intestinal receptor studied under the same conditions.
