Abstract
It has been suggested (Chavat et al, 1964; Kraus & Rabb, 1961) that the “wisdom of the body” dictates that the human stress response should lead to physical exertion or exercise. Indeed, physical exercise appears to be the most effective way of ventilating, or expressing, the stress response in a health-promoting manner, once it has been engendered.
