Abstract
Skin and fin biopsies of one male and tree femals were kindly provided by Dr. Å. Jonsgård, Institutt for Marin Biologi, Oslo, Norway from the 1969 catch. All gave identical results. The smallest acrocentrics have satellites and engage in association. The X is the largest chromosome, the Y is the smallest. They are distinctive. In the female one X is later replicating although both are asynchronous to the autosomes. The Y is not clearly asynchronous. These findings are in agreement with those of Arnason who gives detailed measurements and an ideogram.
