Novel ESIPT Fluorescein: Sensor for Blood and Viscosity

Abstract

Fluorescence properties of novel benzimidazole functionalized ESIPT-fluorescein molecules are studied as function of viscosity. The effect of glycerin medium on fluorescence intensity and fluorescence polarization has been studied. Emission intensity as well as fluorescence polarization increases with an increase in the viscosity of the medium. Fluorescence-based identification of blood samples has been demonstrated with these molecules.
