Summary
The forty three cases of carcinoma of tonsil were reviewed. The lesion was more common in males than females. Most common presenting symptoms were pain in throat, lump in the throat and in the neck. Patients with stage III and IV lesion had bad prognosis. Only 6.2% of stage III patients survived for 3 years while none with stage IV. Extension to base of tongue was a sign of bad omen, and carried further bad prognosis.
