Conclusion
As the external decompression for the severe cerebral edema seen at the acute stage of the head injury, bifrontal external decompression removing bilateral frontal bones extensively is described. This operation, conducted in 11 cases, proved to be a efficient one for decompression purpose. The mechanism of the intense of decompression in this operation was explained on the basis of anatomical and human physical point of view. Details of the operative technic were described.
