Richard V. Wagner is Professor of Psychology at Bates College, Lewiston, Maine 04240. He has been a mediator with the Maine Court Mediation Service since 1980. Among his recent publications is aJournal of Social Issues issue on “Psychology and the Promotion of Peace” (1988, vol. 44, No. 2), which he edited with Joseph de Rivera and Mary Watkins.
