Abstract

June 26 was my last day at UHS.1 I thought about how much I learned in a real, challenging science classroom. For me, this was the place where the rubber meets the road. There is so much I would do differently if I could do my first year at UHS over again. I would redouble my efforts in reaching out to school leaders, colleagues, and students with the goal of connecting to the students in every way possible right from the beginning (and even before). However, I would not beat myself up as much about things I wish were different but had no control over.
