Abstract

The lack of availability of tissue and the nature of joint disease conspire together to limit the contribution the tissue pathologist can make to the diagnostic process in articular diseases. In our laboratory, most tissue from diarthroidial joints falls into one of three main categories: articular surfaces, synovium and synovial fluid.
