Abstract

This chapter reviews some of the issues that a mineral explorer and miner must take into account when evaluating the desirability of conducting operations in various countries. The principal issues examined are the foreign investment, taxation, local equity and certainty of tenure policies adopted by host governments necessary to attract and retain investment by exploration and mining interests.
