Abstract
Several clinical and experimental studies have demonstrated, that two-dimensional echocardiography can rapidly detect and localize contraction abnormalities due to acute myocardial infarction. The extent of regional disturbance correlated remarkably well with angiographic asynergy and it showed also positive correlation to the size of morphologically proven transmural infarction (1,2).
