Abstract
A technique is described for removing strong confusion sources from VLA visibilities. The technique uses the source components obtained from the CLEAN algorithm to specify the source structure, and subtracts these contributions from the visibilities. Point source fluxes can then be obtained from the resultant “clean” database in the same way as is done for unconfused areas of the sky.
