Abstract
Perioperative intravenous fluid therapy is a fundamental part of the management of any surgical procedure and a daily challenge for anesthesiologists. While historically it has been quite neglected in clinical practice, in the last few years fluid administration has received suitable interest, following several studies demonstrating its influence on the outcome of perioperative fluid management [1, 2].
