Abstract

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), combining the absence of ionizing radiation, good natural contrast and the potential to produce three-dimensional images, is a new exploratory technique for adrenal pathology. Its anatomical accuracy is at least as good as CT and perhaps superior due to direct coronal imaging. Moreover, the evolution of signal intensity allows for a certain degree of tissue characterization.
